Upskilling underprivileged women is the primary goal of Project Sharda. It is a gesture to support women who are starting their own businesses. We educate women essential skills through Project Sharda, such as Aroma Candle Making, Basic Makeup Workshop, Mehndi (Heena) Workshop, Financial Literacy Events, so they can support themselves.

Serve with Shraddha hopes to empower our women by establishing a company and providing a means of subsistence through this endeavour.

Mehndi Workshop

“Project Sharda” aims to upskill underprivileged girls and women. A key component of this initiative is the Mehndi Workshop, which has benefited over 150 participants. These workshops have been conducted across various slum regions in Mumbai, providing valuable skills and opportunities for economic empowerment.
A Mehndi workshop serves as a potent tool for empowering women, offering income avenues and enhancing skill sets. These workshops celebrate the cultural art of henna application while providing practical means for women to earn. By mastering Mehndi, women gain a valuable skill for financial independence, enabling them to offer services professionally and participate in cultural events and festivities. Furthermore, Mehndi workshops transform participants by boosting confidence and self-esteem beyond financial gains. As women become proficient in this traditional art, they take pride in their abilities, positively impacting their well-being.

Ultimately, Mehndi workshops offer a dual opportunity for women: income generation and the acquisition of culturally significant skills. These initiatives contribute to both economic empowerment and the preservation of cultural heritage.

Basic Makeup Workshop:

Chocolate Making Workshop

A chocolate making workshop was organized as, aiming to teach essential skills for livelihood. Participants learned chocolate making techniques, wrapping, and received insights into starting a chocolate business, inspiring them to pursue entrepreneurship. Witnessing women come together and engage in this creative endeavour was heartening. Overall, the chocolate making workshop was more than just an event; it was a fulfilling journey of skill enhancement and empowerment for women.

Project Swasth Seva

‘Health: Your Pathway to Balance and Well-being’.

Through ‘Project Swasth Seva’, we offer prompt health examinations, medical camps, and free assistance to those residing in Mumbai’s slums. In addition, we make an effort to conduct awareness initiatives about the value of women’s personal hygiene, menstrual health, and daily physical fitness.

The courses include Personal Hygiene Awareness, Menstrual
Hygiene Awareness, Yoga Classes, etc.

Aroma Candle-making Workshop

One of the main skill-development initiatives under “Project Sharda” is the Aroma Candle Making Workshop. Aroma Candle Workshop is an essential skill that has benefited over 150 participants. These courses have been held in several slum areas throughout Mumbai. The Aroma Candle-making skill development program assists these women in developing their abilities and earning a living while managing their family responsibilities. We’re teaching them how to produce a variety of candles using sustainable, eco-friendly soy wax.

Serve with Shraddha aims to empower these women by establishing a business and creating jobs. Soy wax is a 100% natural wax derived from vegetable soybeans.
Benefits of Soy Wax:
•It is non-toxic and burns cleanly, devoid of toxins, carcinogens, and pollutants, lowering the likelihood of provoking allergies.
•Because it is derived from vegetables, it is also sustainable and environmentally beneficial.

Financial Literacy for Homemakers

During International Women’s Day week, we collaborated with Mastercard India to organize a Financial Literacy event for homemakers. The Mastercard team covered topics including Basic Banking, Email Security, Government Schemes for Women, and Awareness on Identifying Fraudulent Calls. Our goal was to educate women about contemporary frauds, government schemes, and essential banking knowledge, empowering them with financial literacy and independence.
