International Yoga Day (2021)

Our dedicated volunteers visited homes to emphasize the importance of yoga to homemakers, who often neglect their own health while tirelessly working for their families. This initiative encouraged them to prioritize self-care, highlighting yoga as a powerful, natural practice that can inspire and develop individuals in numerous ways.

We promoted yoga as a form of meditation, aiming to help young women become socially, physically, mentally, and spiritually awakened. The benefits of yoga were presented not only as a means of physical exercise but also as a holistic approach to overall well-being.

In our yoga session, led by Ms. Sheha Shikhare, we were joined by many enthusiastic homemakers. Serve with Shraddha ensured all necessary measures were taken to prevent the spread of COVID-19, prioritizing the health and safety of all Women.

•We demonstrated various forms of Asanas, emphasizing their role in strengthening the immune system, crucial during the pandemic.

•After the Yoga session we were delighted to see the happiness and freshness on their faces.

International Sports Day 2021

On National Sports Day, ‘Serve with Shraddha NGO’ organized a dynamic event focused on boxing and self-defence to promote physical fitness, self-confidence, and personal safety within the community. This event aimed to highlight the importance of sports in everyday life and to encourage individuals, especially the youth, to engage in physical activities. The event featured a series of interactive sessions and demonstrations led by professional trainers and experienced athletes. Participants were introduced to the basics of boxing, including proper stance, footwork, and punching techniques.

‘Serve with Shraddha NGO’ ensured that the event was not only educational but also fun and engaging. The event concluded with a friendly boxing match and self-defence demonstration, showcasing the skills learned and celebrating the children’s achievements.

Sukanya Samriddhi Yojana 2022

Sukanya Samriddhi Yojana for under privileged girls by Serve with Shraddha (NGO)
Serve with Shraddha (NGO) in collaboration with Eka Foundation organized an event for opening a Sukanya Samriddhi account on 6th February 2022, at Anna Leela Banquet (Marol, Andheri East). The goal here was to open a savings account for as many girls as possible so they could later use this money in their lives to pursue higher education. The initial instalment was funded by Serve with Shraddha (NGO), Eka Foundation and Dada Saheb Phalke Award for all the girls present for this event. A Sukanya Samriddhi account is available to open for any girl below the age of 10 years. The account will remain active until the account holder is 21 years of age and will be only able to withdraw the savings then.

Around 100 young girls were present at the event with their parents/guardians. They all got their Sukanya Samriddhi accounts opened at the event. We had Actor Sanjay Kapoor with us as a chief guest for this event which filled everyone with enthusiasm and had a great influence on parents to open Sukanya Samriddhi account for their daughters.

However, opening an account under Sukanya Samriddhi Yojana doesn’t stop there. Serve with Shraddha’s team is going to plant more such awareness camps in multiple areas of Mumbai which is going to increase the count of girls having Sukanya Samriddhi accounts.

Worlds Menstrual Hygiene Day 2022

On World Menstrual Hygiene Day, ‘Serve with Shraddha NGO’ conducted a significant outreach program aimed at promoting menstrual health and hygiene among women in the community.

Understanding the critical importance of menstrual hygiene management, especially in Underprivileged areas. The NGO organized a comprehensive event that combined the distribution of sanitary pads with educational sessions.

The event was meticulously planned to ensure maximum outreach and impact. Sanitary pads, an essential item for maintaining menstrual health, were distributed to women who often lack access to these products due to economic constraints. This distribution aimed to provide immediate relief and contribute to the long-term health and dignity of the women in the community.

Career Guidance 2022

Serve with Shraddha took a proactive step towards empowering the youth in the community by organizing a comprehensive career guidance session led by Minhaj Shaikh. The event specifically targeted students who had completed their 10th and 12th grades, aiming to provide them with valuable insights and guidance as they navigate their academic and professional journeys.

Minhaj Shaikh, an experienced career counsellor, played a pivotal role in elucidating the significance of various fields of study and career paths available to the students. Through engaging presentations and interactive discussions, he emphasized the importance of exploring diverse fields and understanding the potential benefits and opportunities each one offers.

The session went beyond merely listing career options; it delved into the nuances of each field, highlighting the unique challenges, rewards, and growth prospects associated with them. Students were encouraged to consider their interests, strengths, and aspirations when making decisions about their educational and career paths.

International Yoga Day 2022

Serve with Shraddha (NGO) organized an event on International Yoga Day, June 21, 2022, at Marol Mahorshi Road, Andheri (E), focusing on the well-being of homemakers. The event, attended by 37 women, included a session on women’s health and nutrition conducted by Dr. Anju Jha, followed by a yoga session led by Sneha Shikhre. It aimed to address the health needs of homemakers who often prioritize their families over their own well-being. The consultation session emphasized the importance of women’s health issues and diet, aiming to break taboos surrounding these topics.

Serve with Shraddha (NGO) commenced weekend yoga classes at Panchalshil Nagar, Marol, Andheri East, held every Saturday and Sunday at 7:00 am. This marked the NGO’s second successful International Yoga Day event.

President Shraddha Singh emphasizes integrating yoga into homemakers’ routines for better physical and mental health, underscoring the significance of these sessions.

Food Grain Distribution 2022

In Nehru Nagar, Marol, Andheri East, ‘Serve with Shraddha NGO’ successfully distributed essential food grains in collaboration with the Dadasaheb Phalke Icon Awards Function (DPIFF). This initiative provided vital supplies such as dal, rice, wheat, and other daily necessities to workers in need.

Our distribution focused on providing staple food items that are crucial for daily living. The rations included dal (lentils), rice, wheat, and other essential grains, ensuring that the recipients had access to nutritious and fundamental components of their diet.

The event aimed to assist workers and their families who have been facing difficulties in meeting their basic food requirements. We carefully organized and executed the distribution process to reach a total of 50 houses/families.

Awareness on Personal Hygiene 2022

An awareness program on Women’s Personal Hygiene and Nutrition was organized for Underprivileged girls, focusing on preventive measures for PCOD disease. Dr. Smita Kale shared insights on personal hygiene and ways to prevent PCOD, emphasizing exercises like Surya-Namaskar and maintaining a healthy diet. Her journey from living in a slum to becoming a successful doctor was inspiring for the attendees. Addressing health issues faced by girls is often considered taboo, leading to reluctance in seeking help. The program aimed to break this taboo and empower girls with knowledge to tackle health issues confidently. The interactive session encouraged participants to discuss their health problems openly. Dr Smita Kale’s approachable demeanour made the session informative and comfortable for all. Overall, the program was successful in raising awareness and promoting discussion on important health topics.

Y20 at Marol 2023

With the generous support of the Y20 India national team, Ms Shraddha, our NGO’s president, and her esteemed colleagues spearheaded a significant Y20Chaupal initiative in collaboration with the local community in Shivaji Nagar slums, Marol, Mumbai.

This event provided crucial insights and guidance on governmental policies tailored for youth welfare. Ms. Shraddha and distinguished speakers advised the youth on their influential role in shaping political and societal narratives.

Attendees were encouraged to actively participate in community initiatives to drive positive change, particularly empowering youth and women in political processes for a more inclusive society.

Y20 Nariman Point 2023

At the iconic location of Nariman Point, a vibrant and engaging #Y20Chaupal was organized by Serve with Shraddha NGO. This unique event served as a platform for youth from diverse backgrounds to come together, engage in meaningful discussions, and share their perspectives on various important issues.

The #Y20Chaupal provided a platform for young people to express themselves, connect with like-minded individuals, and contribute to positive change in their communities. The event exemplified the power of youth voices and collective action in driving meaningful progress and fostering a brighter future for all.

The discussions were facilitated by knowledgeable moderators who encouraged active participation and ensured that everyone had the opportunity to voice their thoughts. Topics such as youth empowerment, sustainability, education, and civic engagement were explored, sparking thought-provoking conversations and inspiring new ideas.

Financial Literacy for Children 2023

Serve with Shraddha NGO Empowers Underprivileged Youth in Mumbai Slums with Financial Literacy Initiatives Marol, Andheri (E), Mumbai: Serve with Shraddha NGO and @thefoodlordco organized an insightful session on “Financial Literacy in Day-to-Day Life. The speaker of this event was renowned Chartered Accountant Pratik Karpe.” The event aimed to empower underprivileged youngsters from the Marol area by providing them with essential knowledge and skills for effective money management.

The session, held at the Golden Tulipz Hotel in Marol, witnessed an enthusiastic gathering of 40 beneficiaries eager to learn and improve their financial literacy. Pratik Karpe joined forces with Shraddha Singh, the founder and president of the NGO, to shed light on the importance of prudent money management and shared valuable strategies to achieve it.

As a practising Chartered Accountant, he brought his extensive experience and expertise to the session, enlightening the attendees on various aspects of financial literacy. He stressed the significance of financial planning and the impact it can have on individuals and their families. Through engaging discussions and practical examples, Pratik ji highlighted the long-term benefits of making informed financial decisions and cautioned against common pitfalls that can lead to financial instability.

Shraddha Singh ji, the driving force behind Serve with Shraddha NGO, emphasized the rationale behind choosing financial literacy as a crucial focus area for the organization. Recognizing that the young participants would soon become the primary breadwinners in their families, She emphasized the need for them to cultivate responsible and judicious money habits. By equipping these youngsters with the necessary knowledge and skills, the NGO aims to empower them to make sound financial choices that can positively impact their future and the well-being of their families.

Empowering women fuels economic development by maximizing the population’s potential. Awareness on Personal Hygiene 2024

Serve With Shraddha NGO, in collaboration with Dadasaheb Phalke Icon Award Films, organized an event to raise awareness about women’s hygiene, particularly menstrual health.

The event aimed to break the taboo surrounding these important issues. Sustainable cotton pads and hot water bags were distributed to provide comfort during periods. Through SWS’s efforts, women are supported physically and mentally, enabling them to lead healthy lives

Star Gazing for Children 2024

Serve with Shraddha collaborated with the Amateur Astronomy Club for a star-gazing event, aiming to educate children about stars, the moon, and celestial bodies. Children expanded their knowledge about the Milky Way, galaxy, and solar system, enjoying the event while gaining valuable scientific knowledge. During the event, children eagerly shared what they learned, demonstrating their enthusiasm for astronomy and science. This highlights their enjoyment of the event and absorption of valuable information.

International Women's Day 2024

On International Women’s Day, Serve with Shraddha hosted an appreciation event. This event’s aim was to recognize volunteers, donors, supporters, and community members for their significant contributions to SWS. Attendees were commended for their dedication and commitment, receiving certificates or awards as tokens of gratitude. The event featured speeches, testimonials, and entertainment, highlighting Serve with Shraddha’s achievements with the support of these individuals. The event fostered pride and motivation among volunteers and women, leaving participants deeply emotional and happy. For many, it was their first time receiving recognition, marking a meaningful milestone. Through this appreciation, Serve with Shraddha aims to inspire others to contribute to society, expressing heartfelt gratitude for their service.

Financial Literacy for Homemakers 2024

During International Women’s Day week, we collaborated with Mastercard India to organize a Financial Literacy event for homemakers. The Mastercard team covered topics including Basic Banking, Email Security, Government Schemes for Women, and Awareness on Identifying Fraudulent Calls. Our goal was to educate women about contemporary frauds, government schemes, and essential banking knowledge, empowering them with financial literacy and independence.

Christmas Day Celebration

Serve with Shraddha, in collaboration with “The Dadasaheb Phalke International Film Festival Awards 2022 (DPIFF)” and Incredible India, is organizing two special initiatives on Christmas Eve: the Smile Drive with @toothsi_aligners and the Happiness Drive with @officialjoshapp. The Smile Drive focuses on promoting dental health for children by providing dental care kits and educational materials on oral hygiene, along with engaging activities to make learning fun. The Happiness Drive aims to spread festive joy by distributing gifts, organizing fun games, and engaging children with interactive activities, storytelling, and performances.

These initiatives are designed to bring smiles and joy to children’s faces during the festive season, making Christmas memorable and meaningful for all involved.

Republic Day Celebration

On Republic Day, Shraddha Singh, the founder and president of Serve with Shraddha NGO, dedicated her time to celebrating with the children selling flags on the roads from Mahim to Dadar. This heartfelt initiative aimed not only to commemorate the national holiday but also to impart valuable knowledge and inspiration to the young flag sellers and their families. As Shraddha Singh traversed the bustling streets, she encountered three different groups of children and their respective families. She took the opportunity to engage with them, creating an atmosphere of warmth and learning amidst the busy day. Shraddha began by explaining the importance of Republic Day, highlighting how it marks the adoption of the Indian Constitution on January 26, 1950, and the establishment of India as a sovereign republic.

Navratri Celebration

Serve with Shraddha celebrated the auspicious festival of Navratri with underprivileged children from Panchashil Nagar and Mahakali Nagar in Marol, Andheri East. This joyous event was marked by a vibrant display of cultural unity and festive spirit, bringing smiles and laughter to all who participated. The smiles on the children’s faces reflected the sheer joy and excitement of the evening. The
Garba dance was not just a fun activity but also a way for the children to connect with their cultural heritage and experience the festive spirit of Navratri.

Independence Day Celebration

Serve with Shraddha celebrated Independence Day in a unique and spirited manner by organizing a dance competition among the students of their Project Nrityananda. This event was not only a celebration of India’s freedom but also a showcase of talent, cultural heritage, and the joy of artistic expression.

New Year Celebration

At the end of 2023, Serve with Shraddha organized a special New Year party for community children at the SWS office. The festive event, filled with laughter, music, and vibrant decorations, created a magical atmosphere. The children’s excitement and happiness made all our efforts worthwhile, showcasing the positive impact of such gatherings and the importance of spreading kindness and creating memorable experiences.

Republic Day Celebration

On Republic Day, Serve with Shraddha organized a drawing competition on the theme of democracy in India. The event engaged community children, encouraging them to express their vision of democracy through art. Held at our community centre, the competition attracted a diverse group of young participants eager to showcase their creativity. Before the competition, Shraddha Singh, founder and president of Serve with Shraddha, spoke about the significance of Republic Day and the democratic principles of the Indian Constitution, inspiring the children to reflect on democracy’s impact on their lives. The resulting artworks were remarkable, each capturing the essence of democracy from a young perspective.
